It hasn't been "my" neighborhood in a while.
This afternoon I left the house at about 1:30pm as I often do. Just as I did I saw one of the people who live in the white tenement house on the opposite corner waddling across the street like they were carrying something heavy. I wasn't really paying attention. Then they leaned on the fence of the house next to us, which was odd, then walked back to their house. So I went down the stairs and went on my way. As we passed the fence my mother said something to me that I didn't understand. I asked her to repeat it and she said "she put the toilet in there".
Now in September of last year, right after school started, the people who lived next door to me up and vanished one weekend. They just split. No "for sale" sign, nothing. Since then, they've come back everyone once and a while to get something. But since they split no one has actually been living there.
Except for their broken toilet. When they left they left a broken toilet in front of their house. And it's been there these last six months. The porch is also crumpled on the bottom. You'd think they would have fixed it but I guess they weren't trying to sell it since in all this time there was no "for sale" sign. These people just split like it was an emergency. I figured at some point if the bank had foreclosed they'd try to sell it or something. It's just been in the state they left it.
Well it was only a few weeks ago that one of our other neighbors asked us about the house because he had heard it was going to be foreclosed on. I have no idea what the official state of it has been all this time but it's been weird to say the least.
So today, in another installment of WTF?, that "person" waddled across the street and decided to leave another toilet on this property but this one they left inside the fence.
Now all of these people have cars. If they need to take something to the dump, they can do so. I don't own a car. So if I needed to get rid of something huge I'd have to pay someone to do it or leave it in my basement. But never in a million years would I just leave it in front of my house let alone cross the street, trespass, and leave it on someone else's property. What the fuck is wrong with people? And the people who crossed the street to rid themselves of the toilet, I'm fairly certain are renters. Meaning they have a landlord, meaning it should be his/her toilet. So why are his tennants even involved with toilet disposal?
There is also a box of tree sitting in the middle of the sidewalk around the corner. These people attempted to dispose of tree bits in a large box but the garbage men didn't take it. So instead of taking it to the dump, they just let it sit there. In the middle of the sidewalk. They couldn't even push it up against their bushes or up against the tree at the curb. It's just laying there like a murder victim.
