Well
I guess I'll never get out of the mess that's become my life. Don't ask me how I got into it. But I should probably stop complaining. People hate that.

I want to die
I'm so fucking sick of it. All the bullshit and lies this world is made up of. I've always been excruciatingly alone, as long as I can remember. It doesn't matter if I'm surrounded my people I'm still alone. No one gives a shit about anyone else. Not family, not friends, not parents, not children. No one. It's all a big fat mean fucking joke. So why can't I just die then? I really honestly don't know. I think I live for revenge. Don't ask me what kind of revenge. I have no idea. I guess if the day ever came when the world did end and all the stuff in the back of the Bible happened and I killed myself the day before, I'd be pissed that I had missed the show. I know what you're thinking I'd be dead, how could I be pissed? But I'm pissed now just thinking about it. So there.

Apocalypto
Sugar tits, this movie is amazing. At the end of the movie, I kept saying to myself "how did he...?" but then I couldn't end the question because there is just so much about the process of making this film that I just can't fathom. I promise you I kept thinking that all the way home. To make a movie like this you should hear about years of pre-production, going over budget, problems on the set, all the kinds of things you heard about Titanic or the kind of set reports you got from LOTR. But this movie just kinda showed up on schedule as a huge epic that no one was expecting. Yeah we all knew Mel Gibson was making a movie about the Mayans who totally disappeared a long time ago. But somehow I don't think any one was expecting this enormous feat. It's everything a movie should be just like The Departed is. Completely entertaining, well-made and well-acted MOVIES. I used the word film before because it is to be considered along side great films but it's really a movie. And that's what we want. You want to be riveted, get emotional, be blown away. That's the movie going experience people put their shoes on to go to the theater for. And these Oscar worthy movies are just perfect. They're not pretentious and stuffy like Oscar films usually are, that's why these are what should be rewarded. Will they be? We'll see. Crash was such a steaming pile that I'll never trust the Academy again.

[Editor's note: This is the full text of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's open letter to "the American People," as supplied to CNN.]
(CNN) -- In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
O, Almighty God, bestow upon humanity the perfect human being promised to all by You, and make us among his followers.
Noble Americans,
Were we not faced with the activities of the US administration in this part of the world and the negative ramifications of those activities on the daily lives of our peoples, coupled with the many wars and calamities caused by the US administration as well as the tragic consequences of US interference in other countries;
Were the American people not God-fearing, truth-loving, and justice-seeking, while the US administration actively conceals the truth and impedes any objective portrayal of current realities;
And if we did not share a common responsibility to promote and protect freedom and human dignity and integrity;
Then, there would have been little urgency to have a dialogue with you.
While Divine providence has placed Iran and the United States geographically far apart, we should be cognizant that human values and our common human spirit, which proclaim the dignity and exalted worth of all human beings, have brought our two great nations of Iran and the United States closer together.
Both our nations are God-fearing, truth-loving and justice-seeking, and both seek dignity, respect and perfection.
Both greatly value and readily embrace the promotion of human ideals such as compassion, empathy, respect for the rights of human beings, securing justice and equity, and defending the innocent and the weak against oppressors and bullies.
We are all inclined towards the good, and towards extending a helping hand to one another, particularly to those in need.
We all deplore injustice, the trampling of peoples' rights and the intimidation and humiliation of human beings.
We all detest darkness, deceit, lies and distortion, and seek and admire salvation, enlightenment, sincerity and honesty.
The pure human essence of the two great nations of Iran and the United States testify to the veracity of these statements.
Noble Americans,
Our nation has always extended its hand of friendship to all other nations of the world.
Hundreds of thousands of my Iranian compatriots are living amongst you in friendship and peace, and are contributing positively to your society. Our people have been in contact with you over the past many years and have maintained these contacts despite the unnecessary restrictions of US authorities.
As mentioned, we have common concerns, face similar challenges, and are pained by the sufferings and afflictions in the world.
We, like you, are aggrieved by the ever-worsening pain and misery of the Palestinian people. Persistent aggressions by the Zionists are making life more and more difficult for the rightful owners of the land of Palestine. In broad day-light, in front of cameras and before the eyes of the world, they are bombarding innocent defenseless civilians, bulldozing houses, firing machine guns at students in the streets and alleys, and subjecting their families to endless grief.
No day goes by without a new crime.
Palestinian mothers, just like Iranian and American mothers, love their children, and are painfully bereaved by the imprisonment, wounding and murder of their children. What mother wouldn't?
For 60 years, the Zionist regime has driven millions of the inhabitants of Palestine out of their homes. Many of these refugees have died in the Diaspora and in refugee camps. Their children have spent their youth in these camps and are aging while still in the hope of returning to homeland.
You know well that the US administration has persistently provided blind and blanket support to the Zionist regime, has emboldened it to continue its crimes, and has prevented the UN Security Council from condemning it.
Who can deny such broken promises and grave injustices towards humanity by the US administration?
Governments are there to serve their own people. No people wants to side with or support any oppressors. But regrettably, the US administration disregards even its own public opinion and remains in the forefront of supporting the trampling of the rights of the Palestinian people.
Let's take a look at Iraq. Since the commencement of the US military presence in Iraq, hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have been killed, maimed or displaced. Terrorism in Iraq has grown exponentially. With the presence of the US military in Iraq, nothing has been done to rebuild the ruins, to restore the infrastructure or to alleviate poverty. The US Government used the pretext of the existence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, but later it became clear that that was just a lie and a deception.
Although Saddam was overthrown and people are happy about his departure, the pain and suffering of the Iraqi people has persisted and has even been aggravated.
In Iraq, about one hundred and fifty thousand American soldiers, separated from their families and loved ones, are operating under the command of the current US administration. A substantial number of them have been killed or wounded and their presence in Iraq has tarnished the image of the American people and government.
Their mothers and relatives have, on numerous occasions, displayed their discontent with the presence of their sons and daughters in a land thousands of miles away from US shores.
American soldiers often wonder why they have been sent to Iraq.
I consider it extremely unlikely that you, the American people, consent to the billions of dollars of annual expenditure from your treasury for this military misadventure.
Noble Americans,
You have heard that the US administration is kidnapping its presumed opponents from across the globe and arbitrarily holding them without trial or any international supervision in horrendous prisons that it has established in various parts of the world. God knows who these detainees actually are, and what terrible fate awaits them.
You have certainly heard the sad stories of the Guantanamo and Abu-Ghraib prisons. The US administration attempts to justify them through its proclaimed "war on terror." But every one knows that such behavior, in fact, offends global public opinion, exacerbates resentment and thereby spreads terrorism, and tarnishes the US image and its credibility among nations.
The US administration's illegal and immoral behavior is not even confined to outside its borders. You are witnessing daily that under the pretext of "the war on terror," civil liberties in the United States are being increasingly curtailed. Even the privacy of individuals is fast losing its meaning. Judicial due process and fundamental rights are trampled upon. Private phones are tapped, suspects are arbitrarily arrested, sometimes beaten in the streets, or even shot to death.
I have no doubt that the American people do not approve of this behavior and indeed deplore it.
The US administration does not accept accountability before any organization, institution or council. The US administration has undermined the credibility of international organizations, particularly the United Nations and its Security Council. But, I do not intend to address all the challenges and calamities in this message.
The legitimacy, power and influence of a government do not emanate from its arsenals of tanks, fighter aircrafts, missiles or nuclear weapons. Legitimacy and influence reside in sound logic, quest for justice and compassion and empathy for all humanity. The global position of the United States is in all probability weakened because the administration has continued to resort to force, to conceal the truth, and to mislead the American people about its policies and practices.
Undoubtedly, the American people are not satisfied with this behavior and they showed their discontent in the recent elections. I hope that in the wake of the mid-term elections, the administration of President Bush will have heard and will heed the message of the American people.
My questions are the following:
Is there not a better approach to governance?
Is it not possible to put wealth and power in the service of peace, stability, prosperity and the happiness of all peoples through a commitment to justice and respect for the rights of all nations, instead of aggression and war?
We all condemn terrorism, because its victims are the innocent.
But, can terrorism be contained and eradicated through war, destruction and the killing of hundreds of thousands of innocents?
If that were possible, then why has the problem not been resolved?
The sad experience of invading Iraq is before us all.
What has blind support for the Zionists by the US administration brought for the American people? It is regrettable that for the US administration, the interests of these occupiers supersedes the interests of the American people and of the other nations of the world.
What have the Zionists done for the American people that the US administration considers itself obliged to blindly support these infamous aggressors? Is it not because they have imposed themselves on a substantial portion of the banking, financial, cultural and media sectors?
I recommend that in a demonstration of respect for the American people and for humanity, the right of Palestinians to live in their own homeland should be recognized so that millions of Palestinian refugees can return to their homes and the future of all of Palestine and its form of government be determined in a referendum. This will benefit everyone.
Now that Iraq has a Constitution and an independent Assembly and Government, would it not be more beneficial to bring the US officers and soldiers home, and to spend the astronomical US military expenditures in Iraq for the welfare and prosperity of the American people? As you know very well, many victims of Katrina continue to suffer, and countless Americans continue to live in poverty and homelessness.
I'd also like to say a word to the winners of the recent elections in the US:
The United States has had many administrations; some who have left a positive legacy, and others that are neither remembered fondly by the American people nor by other nations.
Now that you control an important branch of the US Government, you will also be held to account by the people and by history.
If the US Government meets the current domestic and external challenges with an approach based on truth and Justice, it can remedy some of the past afflictions and alleviate some of the global resentment and hatred of America. But if the approach remains the same, it would not be unexpected that the American people would similarly reject the new electoral winners, although the recent elections, rather than reflecting a victory, in reality point to the failure of the current administration's policies. These issues had been extensively dealt with in my letter to President Bush earlier this year.
To sum up:
It is possible to govern based on an approach that is distinctly different from one of coercion, force and injustice.
It is possible to sincerely serve and promote common human values, and honesty and compassion.
It is possible to provide welfare and prosperity without tension, threats, imposition or war.
It is possible to lead the world towards the aspired perfection by adhering to unity, monotheism, morality and spirituality and drawing upon the teachings of the Divine Prophets.
Then, the American people, who are God-fearing and followers of Divine religions, will overcome every difficulty.
What I stated represents some of my anxieties and concerns.
I am confident that you, the American people, will play an instrumental role in the establishment of justice and spirituality throughout the world. The promises of the Almighty and His prophets will certainly be realized, Justice and Truth will prevail and all nations will live a true life in a climate replete with love, compassion and fraternity.
The US governing establishment, the authorities and the powerful should not choose irreversible paths. As all prophets have taught us, injustice and transgression will eventually bring about decline and demise. Today, the path of return to faith and spirituality is open and unimpeded.
We should all heed the Divine Word of the Holy Qur'an:
"But those who repent, have faith and do good may receive Salvation. Your Lord, alone, creates and chooses as He will, and others have no part in His choice; Glorified is God and Exalted above any partners they ascribe to Him." (28:67-68)
I pray to the Almighty to bless the Iranian and American nations and indeed all nations of the world with dignity and success.

Can illegal aliens use our legal system to sue their employers?
I read an article in my local newspaper today and my blood pressure pretty much went through the roof. The article which you can read here http://www.southcoasttoday.com/daily/11-06/11-14-06/22local.htm tells of eight immigrant workers who sued their employer for overtime pay that they didn't receive. Now if they're all legal immigrants fine, but when I made a couple of calls the people I spoke with only knew for sure that the man mentioned in the article was definitely legal. I also heard that one of the people interviewed said that it didn't matter if they were legal or not just that the company involved did the wrong thing. Bet that was a lawyer.
I think it's disgusting. I'm willing to bet that at least one of those people were illegal. Every other time I hear a news story involving any kind of immigrant around here, they're not legal. There was a man who died recently while working on a house, when a freak accident allowed him to make contact with a power line. He was found to be an illegal. Every other time that I read about a drug bust some of the perpetrators are illegal. Every time I go to the store I hear Spanish everywhere, which wasn't the case even last year. Don't get me wrong we've always had decent people of Hispanic descent around here but most were second generation and everyone spoke English. Now it's like I moved south of the border. I don't know what's going on, but if it's gotten to the point where our legal system is protecting aliens and retrieving wages they never should have had in the first place, I don't know what to say.
This area needs jobs. The reason these types of jobs aren't necessarily the best around here is that you can be guaranteed arthritis working with fish. And they stink. So if the money isn't enough to feed your family on, maybe it's not worth it. The fourteen dollars that go directly into an immigrant's pocket is only ten to an American who actually pays taxes. Ten dollars is not a lot and might not be enough to live on. So doing a job like that is a last option. What should be happening is that the companies should be forced to offer a better wage but they're not because of the endless supply of illegals who are willing to work for what should be ten dollars take home pay, but for them is fourteen. I can't believe how anyone would back up a system like this. And if our legal system is now doing it, I think all hope is lost. And the revolution can't come fast enough.
Or the bird flu, if you want to go that route.

YAY BRITNEY YOU DID IT!!!
I knew you weren't stupid.
See here's what she did. She wanted kids so she just went and had some. Instead of trying to find the perfect person. (Hello, Mr. Pitt, sound familiar?) She found a guy she knew was fertile and got knocked up on purpose. Then she had another one and decided that was enough. Once she got her husband on his feet by starting him in his career, she's off. Smart cookie.
btw, if you haven't seen The Departed, you better. *shakes fist* :) I saw it again Friday and it's even better the second time.

So Proud of Doogie
The reason is that when he came out publicly it was just basically like 'Yeah I'm gay', no big deal about it. That's how it should be all the time.

F'in. B-tches.
I'm really sick of it. I've been a fan for too long and been abused too many ways for this to fly with me anymore. I hope they all have fun with their boyfriend Justine Timberlake.

Either I have a cold or it's allergies but
I can't tell the difference between Barry Manilow and Barbara Walters. They've both obviously had work done but how does that happen? I mean I like Barry. I like his music. He's such a fantastic performer, ya know. So I don't really want him looking like her because, well, she grates. I don't understand why she is where she is in the world. For as long as I've seen her she seems to ask people the stupidest questions, which I thought maybe was what made her so popular since most people are stupid and would ask the same questions. But I just think maybe she's not that bright. I would have never known it until "The View". It was bad enough before, when the other hosts were at least afraid of her. But they still made more sense than her. And now with Rosie on, she just seems lost. And then she starts explaining things as if we don't know what's going on. Regis does that to Kelly when he has no idea what she's talking about. I wonder if these people will ever realize that they're the ones who are behind.
But that still doesn't explain why Barry looks exactly like her now. I really hate the plastic surgery. The oldest people with the wrinkliest winkles don't look as bad as most of these plastic surgery junkies. If I were running the government I'd step in and stop it. I think these plastic surgeons are abusing people. They know their problems are psychological and they just keep cutting.
Alright. I put on the humidifier. We'll see what happens.

I'm not worried about his nukes, it's his curling iron that I fear
Now I was a kid who instead of being afraid of spiders or dust bunnies was afraid of nuclear war. And thunder. Thunder was my primary fear, nuclear annihilation was the second. But this whole bruhaha with Kim Jong Il just baffles me. Does the media think we're stupid enough to fall for this stuff? Or are we stupid enough to fall for it?
Here's the thing. The sh*t could hit the fan on this one. It's totally plausible. And the important thing is that the governments of the world are doing their best to make it happen. They pretended Iraq was important because of the exact kind of weapons Kim Kim now has and somehow they want to ignore him and isolate him and use the devil against him. The devil beings sanctions mind you.
Now why in God's name would we do this? Do we not like Japan anymore? Do we really want Hello Kitty to glow in the dark?
How do you continue to ignore the batsh*t ruler of a dictatorship who actually has the bomb. You always hear people saying how lucky we were that we got the bomb before Germany. Hel-lo. Hitler. Kim Jong Il. Hitler. Kim Jong Il. I'm not seeing the freakin' difference except that this guy has a Curling Iron of Death. If it's ceramic, we're f-cked.
I can't believe the stupidity going around right now. It's as if absolutely no one knows what's important and what actually needs attention. Be nice to him. Offer him some AquaNet. Anything to keep the crazy just a wee bit satiated in his need for attention. Otherwise "Jericho" is going to turn into the most interesting show on television.

If you've ever liked a movie you'll love The Departed
This is a great movie. It's what movies should be. It's the first time I think I've ever been completely comfortable recommending a movie to people. I have strange tastes so I usually don't encourage people to see movies I like because they may hold it against me. This one should be popular with everyone.
Firstly everyone loves someone in it. If you don't love Leo, you love Jack. And if for some unknown reason you don't like either of them you must be one of those weirdos who loves Matt Damon. Everyone in the cast does a great job but Leo is really amazing here. I've always thought he was a good actor but wow. Now I know what all those teenagers were on about. He was hot. Mark Wahlberg takes on some of the comic relief. There are a couple great quotes from his character.
The movie is about two and a half hours long. I know some people hate long movies but this one doesn't even feel that long. It's so much edge of your seat stuff that you're so into it you don't even remember there is such a thing as time. The story is pretty complex but still easy to follow. There is a lot of double crossing and it almost has a film noir edge to it. But it's definitely a crime thriller. It's basically about the state police in Massachusetts trying to take down the head of an Irish gang, played by Jack Nicholson. He's great of course but it's amazing to see how well Leonardo does in his scenes with him. Those scenes will be classics.
I wouldn't normally say trust me but this one is really good. I intend to see this as many times as possible. In fact I wish I had the DVD right now. I think we're looking at next's Oscar winner. If not I think we're going to have to take out the Academy. I've never really been a huge fan of Martin Scorsese but I definitely think if he's going to win an Oscar it should be for this movie. The songs in the movie were a little heavy handed. Meaning if someone was "out of it", there'd be a song playing about someone being "out of it". They were a little too obvious. Some thing else I found interesting was the amount of audience participation. Lots of gasps, and "Oh no!"s. If your interested there are plenty of clips over at Youtube or you can go over to the official site to wet your appetite.

So much to talk about this Friday.
Sara Evans quit "Dancing with the Stars". That sucks for Willa and Max who got booted the day before.
Okay I think Brian Williams just said that the woman whose apartment caught on fire because that Baseball player crashed into it, is the same woman who the Cat in the Hat balloon tried to kill. Do you remember that? It was insane. She had been at the Thanksgiving Day Parade and was taping the balloons. The balloon crashed into one of the streetlamps and knocked the light part down onto her. Now Dateline or one of those shows back then had showed the footage from her own camera. And so you were seeing it from her perspective, and I'm telling you the Cat in the Hat had it in for her. It was boppin' along, stopped right in front of her, turned and looked down to face her and it was leering at her. It was scary. Then it crashed into the pole and she was badly hurt.
Now suddenly out of nowhere, that plane took a ridiculous turn into her apartment building and hit her apartment? That is the most F-ed up thing I've ever heard in all my life. I've thought in the past that my life could have been cursed because of bad luck. I know it's not likely but I don't completely rule out stuff like that. But this? What could that be? It's not just bad karma. Something has to be after her. I totally freaked out when I just heard that. It's David Lynchian.
Bono and Oprah and Red Stuff. It's a good idea, but even though Bono is the least of the offenders, I'm sick of celebrities being so much better than me. Honestly, if I had their money, I'd be doing the same thing but I wouldn't be constantly talking down to people while putting my hand out. And evil fascist that I now am I think the world is overpopulated and maybe some of this stuff is supposed to happen. If we save everyone, we'll be eating Soylent Green in no time.
And let Madonna buy an African if she wants. I don't understand why if Angelina Jolie does it she's a saint, but Madonna does it and somehow it's evil. What is it the fish lips that make her so much better than everyone else? Oh no it's that she steals people's husbands with those fish lips. Oh yeah, I forgot.
Oh and I don't like LOST anymore. Now I have no more must see TV shows. Not one.

Give Foley his job back
I'm watching Larry King right now and this guy/kid whatever he is is really good-looking. So poor Foley probably couldn't help himself. I mean if you're one of them perverts and someone that good-looking was around you all the time you'd have to have some insane restraint.
btw, My "LOST" theory is garbage after Wednesday. I really think they should change the title of the show since they're not actually lost.

My theory for the TV show LOST
As of today I change it every couple of episodes. :D
The Island is an ancient island. On it there is a huge amount of magnetite. Perhaps one huge part that jets out. The Black Rock, the ship, was named after this rock on the island years ago. The real magnetite Black Rock gives the island it's “powers”. There are natives and they belong to an ancient cult that worships the island Spirit. They are waiting for a savior or prophet.
Because of this huge magnetite on the island, the Hanso Foundation decided it would be the best place to do it's research involving electromagnetic energy. They are an independent group of scientists who intended to save the world. They needed to use this island because it could be rendered invisible through electromagnetic energy. But they never realized that the island itself may object to being used this way. The island instigated “the incident” which basically ruined Dharma's initiative. Because word of the experiment could not get out the scientists were not brought back to “civilization” after the failure. But the Hanso Foundation food drops continued.
Henry Gale and his bunch were working for Dharma. But because of everything that happened they became disillusioned with science. So they eventually learned to live off the land and over time joined the native cult. The person they have referred to up to this point as “Him” is the prophet the natives are waiting for. They have learned to harness the powers of the island the way Dharma meant to harness the powers of electromagnetic energy. They intend to carry on their mission in this way. That's why it is important for them to separate the “good” guys from the “bad” guys. If the bad guys learned to use this power it could be catastrophic for mankind. They intend to use it to save it.
Danielle's team joined the cult. When they tried to convert her, their religious gobbledeeguk made her think that they were insane. So she killed them all.

Bin Laden can't be dead
Not now. Whitney is finally divorcing Bobby. Oh, how ironical!
Anyway can you believe Courtney Love saved Whitney? I guess you take one iconic life you had better save another. She must be a big fan of My Name is Earl.

Dude, you rock. The only problem is how to stop him from being so HOT!!!
Dude, you rock. The only problem is how to stop him from being so HOT!!!
Walmart is coming to the rescue
All hail the Rollback guy. :D
I never got pissed at Walmart the way you might have expected I would. Firstly it's like a grown-up's toy store, they've got everything and it's cheap. Now it's cheap because their clothing etc, is manufactured by people in Asia who get paid ten cents. Now this is bad but I always figured if they weren't getting that ten cents to make those cheap clothes they'd probably have to be hooking for the same ten cents. So it was the lesser of two evils, imo. Now if this prescription drug thing takes off, it will start a chain of events that will stop the evil and satanic HMOs in their tracks. Either they'll just give up on over-prescribing people or they'll have to come up with some other stupid way to rip us all off. Either way it's a win for the little guy I assure you, no matter which way the buttheads try to spin it.
I love my Earth Shoes. And today do you know what I bought? Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, granola bars, bug spray, Cod Liver Oil pills, TP and caffeine free Coca-Cola all for $16.39. Booyah!

The Black Dahlia and The Man
What is wrong with people? Last Friday I went to see a what I consider to be a really good movie and I come home and everyone is hating on it with the heat of a thousand suns. What for? It's a freakin' movie. If you don't like it, just don't like it. Why the need to go off on it and jump on some moron bandwagon? The same thing happened with Lady in the Water, but I figured all the hate was because people were saying that M. Night Shyamalan was arrogant and that they were attacking him personally through the movie. But in this case I've never heard of anyone hating Brian De Palma. What gives?
In both cases, I loved the movies' originality. I tend to think that the average human out there hates originality. Now I'm sure you're going to say those movies aren't original. That there are plenty of movie just like them. Well no, not really, no. There are movies with the same style and similar events in them but these movies take these things put them in a blender and come up with the most wonderful concoctions that it's a joy to behold. I mean when Tarantino completely lifts things from Hong Kong movies he's a genius. So that can't be the real issue. It has to be that people hate not knowing exactly what it going to happen every step of the way. They don't want to be taken on a ride in the theater. They want what they think they're paying for. So if the trailers or TV spots are slightly misleading they hate the director for it and say that the movie is the worst thing they've ever seen. Idiots.
There is no way people can go into The Black Dahlia and go off on it the way they do without being complete tools. Even if you don't like the story you have to see all the work that went into it and at least appreciate that. The actors were great in their roles and people have been lambasting them. I'm surprised people haven't accused the hats of being pedophiles or something. With all the ridiculous comments I've heard, it wouldn't surprise me at this point.
The reason this is aggravating me is that I just feel like it's more evidence of people being brainwashed on a daily basis. The way people are forming their opinions about movies en mass may seem trite. But right now movies are the only thing most people can talk about on equal footing. You don't need a degree or years of study to watch a film and comment on it. However people seem to be treating it as though it's some sort of barometer about their intelligence. The reason I say that is in recent years when I read a normal person's review of a film, let's say on the IMDb or Yahoo, it sounds just like what the majority of critics have said. I believe there is a trend of people reading critics reviews of movie and taking it as their own opinion. I think people are so afraid of having their own opinion and some how being viewed as wrong or stupid that they just don't have an opinion any more. They just say what the person who appears to be the smartest is saying, so that no one can accuse them of being unintelligent.
Again I know it's just movies but this should scare the crap out of anyone who enjoys freedom. Because it seems as though people are almost begging to be controlled. They don't want to have their own minds. They need Big Brother. They need someone to tell them what to think, what to wear, what music to listen to, what actor is the best. Yeah Johnny Depp is cute and a good actor, but why after nearly 20 years in the industry is he suddenly the object of everyone obsession? Why are albums constantly debuting at number one? Back in my day it was such a rarity, today it's the norm. That means that people are buying something with the assumption that they will like it. Millions of people are buying these things blind. Why? Because they're supposed to. Why? Because their friends are, or everyone is.
This is totally freaking scary. The number of people willing to use their brain and disagree with what they're being told is shrinking. Think of how many people changed their minds on the War in Iraq. You think they all just had a revelation? Or that the casualty count hit the same magic number for everyone at the same time that would turn the War from being good to being bad. No. At first, after 9/11, the War was the popular idea. All the cool kids were supporting the troops. Then some polls came out and now suddenly all the cool kids hate the war. How can that many people change their minds on something that important? Were they not thinking in the beginning or are they not thinking now? I'd say it's both.

Well Andre retired :(
It's so sad. I did start watching tennis just as he was bursting onto the scene. And it's so weird to see how it's all played out. I remember people like Johnny Mac complaining about his grunting. Everyone thought he was a punk. And he was. He refused to play Wimbledon because they wouldn't let him wear his acid washed shorts. I remember people treating him like they would eventually treat Anna Kournikova for being all style and no substance, since it seemed he couldn't win a major tournament. And then having him eventually win at Wimbledon in his tennis whites. I remember jumping up and down that Sunday morning. We made it through Babs, Brooke, male pattern baldness, being ranked 200something, all of it. He came back to become a great elder of the tribe, a wonderful humanitarian, and someone who entertained us for 21 years. It's like separating from a childhood friend. It really is.
The best part for me was hearing a couple days later that Pete Sampras was watching. He watched the way a true champion left the game beloved by all. Pete will have his record books to love him for a few years until Roger Federer takes that away from him. And then years from now when parents tell their children about the greatest tennis player ever, his name will be Andre Agassi. Winning hearts is more important than winning titles.

WOOHOO!!!! ANDRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was so scary. I was so happy when he went up two sets. And then I started to worry. Oh man, that was nerve-wracking but he made it through. I have no idea who Benjamin Becker is. I've never seen him play before so I don't know what we're up against. But hey, tonight was super-amazing.
We can heal Andre's back for the next match. We can pray, send positive vibes, send healing white light from the universe. Anything will help. Just stay positively charged and send it to Andre.
Wow. This is so awesome.

Why no coverage of Maywood, CA?
The Minutemen went into Maywood, CA last weekend to protest illegal immigration. Of course in the mostly illegal community they weren't very welcome. Anyway, what these criminals decided to do was to go over to the United States Post Office and take down the American flag and replace it with a Mexican one. Firmly establishing themselves as anti-American. And it would probably be treason if they were citizens, but they're not. And they've taken over a whole town. And they can't even respect the rights of true Americans to have a peaceful protest, when everyone was supposed to be cool with their protests right? That's a bunch of BS.
I'm disgusted. I'm sorry. I never had a problem with these people until they started marching in the streets demanding our rights. You don't have rights when you're not a citizen and are breaking our laws. Just by being here you're breaking the law so the idea that they're not criminals is ridiculous. And now they get to do something like this? And it seems like no one cares. Well I care. And I've already written my Congressman on this issue in the past. And I will be again. Who the hell do these "people" think they are anyway?

YAY! ANDRE!
Whoo. That was scary. I was worried Andre Agassi wouldn't make it through the first round in his final Open. Well his final tournament actually. It's weird he was never my favorite player but I'm not dealing with his retirement very well. I always loved him, just like everyone else does. Don't get me wrong. I started watching tennis the year he appeared on the scene. So I don't know what tennis is like without him. And I'm dreading it quite frankly.
So Thursday then. :D Onward and upward.
So Thursday then. :D Onward and upward.
The charges were dropped
Well isn't that special?
And it's hilarious because they all treated it like a little blurb. Sorta like "Oh yeah, and uh, chargeshavebeendroppedintheJonBenetcase, ehem, back to Katrina". LOL. Idiots.
So what was going on all that time that they didn't want us to pay attention to? I wonder. I wonder.

I'm not happy about this. As someone who used to be way into astrology I think it sucks. Pluto is cool. He's the mysterious planet. The one who's got a lot going on under the surface. Now what is he? A dwarf planet? I'm not buying it. Maybe it's one of those forced perspective tricks they used in Lord of the Rings to make the hobbits look small. So really it's not too tiny they're just not looking at it right.
Speaking of tiny, this Tom Cruise thing pisses me off. They made him a star for jumping on a couch ("take those old records off the shelf") and now they're crucifying him for it. The pharmaceutical guys and the people who love to munch on their pills are trying to make him out to be insane because he gave his opinion that said pills not only don't cure anything but are harmful. And everyone just buys that he's crazy even though he'd be saving them money and possibly their health. Why? Because it's on TV. And it all started with Billy Bush, who is one of those Bushes. There are conspiracies all over the damn place.

The Ramsey story has gone off the rails
First, the coverage has been insane. We all know that. Even freakier for me I had watched "Perfect Murder, Perfect Town" last weekend. So I had been refreshed on the whole thing right before this story broke. There are so many things wrong with this and it all starts with the media coverage again.
Okay, these people jumped on it. They went from having a possible suspect to the murder being "solved" in under 24 hours. How in the world can they even run with that? Then they have to start backtracking on all the indictments they made of John and Patsy Ramsey for ten years. Then when "the suspect" starts to look like a weirdo they have to backtrack from saying that the murder is solved. It's been a week of nonsense.
About John Mark Karr. Beyond him looking creepy he looks exactly like someone. My best guess at who he's reminding me of has been the actor Richard E. Grant, but I don't think that's it. It's a closer resemblance than that and I can't come up with it. The thing about him that's getting to me right now is that if it is him, he's another 3 name killer. You know what I mean. Lee Harvey Oswald, James Earl Ray, Mark David Chapman.... But why the heck would JonBenet have one of those? Was she assassinated? They even marched him out in Thailand ala Lee Harvey Oswald. If he has said something about Patsy it would have been too much. It's all too staged. Too conspiracy looking. But why in the world would they have a conspiracy about a little girl's murder? Why would she need a fake 3 name killer. Something is so not right about this whole thing and I think it has almost nothing to do with the actual murder of a little girl. It's like it's the media chewing on it's own foot.
Now John Ramsey hasn't said much. I don't blame him. But he was taking the "wait and see" position. Which is both interesting and really the only thing that makes sense. But no one listened. Everyone went crazy. Her aunt going down to the grave site with a whole pack of the media there. What was that? The guy who was in touch with Karr all that time was a journalism professor. Um, okay, more media, great. This whole thing seems like a huge hoax and not just by the suspect. All these TV law experts, who are generally lawyers, didn't even question it at first. Everyone knows that in any highly publicized case there are always those people who take credit for it that had absolutely nothing to do with it. That's a given. But no one started questioning it until the suspect started talking crazy and looking nuts.
I was flipping channels last night just before 1AM eastern time and CNN and FOX News both had live coverage of the plane that Karr was on, arriving in LA. I mean just sitting there. With the hallway thingy that attaches the plane to the airport on it. And I'm wondering if they thought we were going to be able to see him get off the plane somehow. Or maybe they had Superman standing by to use his X-ray vision to tell us exactly when he left the actual plane and how many steps it took him to get to the airport. It stayed like that for a while so I changed it. I thought they were actually going to tell me something new. You know, news, should be like, I dunno, new.
Then today I'm seeing the note that was found when JonBenet was killed being compared with a high school year book entry. I will be the conquerer to BTC. That's a little too convenient don't you think? And does your handwriting look like it did in high school? Mine doesn't. Not as much as that did anyway. I'm sorry but something stinks. And it smells like a smell no one's ever smelt before. Too freakin' weird.
I don't even know what I think anymore. I actually hadn't thought that her parents had anything to do with her murder. It seemed to me that it had to be some kind of serial killer or pedophile. Whatever it was I thought it was well planned but not by them. Now it's all such a mess. We'll just have to wait and see.

Move over, Bonaduce.
Here comes Haley.
I mean, really, can you believe it? When he got into an accident, the only thing I questioned was his choice of automobile. He's not a washed up kid actor. He didn't turn out to be ugly. Everyone thinks the world of him and somehow he does something as stupid as this. I don't get it. I really don't.
But it does follow my current theory about the meaning of life. I'll tell you about that some other time.

I Want My Mtv!
So Mtv's 25. That makes me a very old kid I guess. I was definitely raised on Mtv and let me tell you that was a happy childhood. Looking at some of these videos they seem a little cheesy to the more jaded of us but I think they're as cool as I did then. And as a kid watching this I just thought that when I was a grown up the world was going to be that cool too.
I'm watching VH1 Classic's replay of the first day of programming which I actually didn't see because we didn't have Mtv from the beginning. I don't think it was available here right away. Just looking at Pat Benatar it just takes you back to what I believe was a better time. I mean I remember adults complaining about Ronald Reagan and I knew we could blow up any second. Prince said so in "1999" and Sting made it super clear in "Russians" and Simon Lebon thought that someone was about as easy as a nuclear war which didn't sound very nice. And somehow they all made me happy about it. Maybe it was because they all looked so good at the time. But these mini-musicals that we watched religiously every day after school gave us something to sing about and to dance to. So the world seemed like a great place. I'd go back there in a second. Even the weirder songs like "Fishheads", "99 Luftballoons", and "Mexican Radio" seem like old friends. And how about all those creepy little kids like the girl in The Art of Noise video for "Close to the Edit"? Where did they go? I miss them all.
So I'd like to thank all those people who made my childhood so happy even if some of them aren't with us anymore. Thank you Mark Goodman, J.J. Jackson, Nina Blackwood, Alan Hunter, Martha Quinn. Thank you to all the singers and bands who inspired me as a kid, especially, Culture Club, Wham!, U2, INXS, Depeche Mode, Tears For Fears, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, the Police, Corey Hart, John (Cougar) Mellencamp, Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart, Tina Turner, David Bowie, Don Henley, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Run D.M.C., The Beastie Boys, L.L. Cool J, Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, Prince & the Revolution, Sheila E., Weird Al Yankovic, Grace Jones, Eurythmics, Survivor, Phil Collins, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, ABC, Adam Ant, Falco, A-ha, Mr. Mister, The Hooters, Level 42, The Fine Young Cannibals, the Human League, Howard Jones, Samantha Fox, Night Ranger, the Clash, Bruce Springsteen, Def Leppard, Mötley Cruë, RATT, Poison, Bon Jovi, Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen, Foreigner, Loverboy, Berlin, Chicago, Donna Summer, Heart, Hall & Oates, Kenny Loggins, Bryan Adams, Scorpions, Styx, Journey, Pat Benatar, Rick Springfield, Billy Idol, Queen, and first and foremost Duran Duran. I love you guys.

Poor Mel
He got drunk and accidently let slip what everyone else is thinking. He really needs a full time driver though.
I think "sugar t*ts" is my favorite phrase ever.

I was sickened watching the news tonight
It was incredibly sad to find out that the Israelis murdered so many little children yesterday, but after nearly three weeks of watching these acts on television, it isn't surprising. So quite honestly that wasn't the thing that disturbed me the most. It was seeing all those people shifting their anger toward the US. It makes me sick because I've been sitting here every night watching CNN thinking 'what the hell is wrong with Israel?' From the first night I've thought that no matter what their reasoning is, and I do believe I understand what they thought they were doing, they've behaved in the most disgusting way. They took the opportunity of a couple of kidnappings to strike at an enemy that they've wanted to hit for a long time. It seems pretty obvious that they figured they could because that's what Bush did with Iraq and Saddam Hussein. I didn't support that and I don't support this. And I doubt that many Americans do. Now obviously that backfired on Bush since most people don't like him anymore. His dad even hangs out with Bill Clinton instead. So why Israel thought they could get away with it is beyond me. Now they're taking us down with them so I don't even understand what those in Washington who've always stood with Israel are thinking. They didn't give any Americans a heads-up to get out of Lebanon before they started bombing and they regretted to inform Condoleeza Rice about their massacre of the little children while she's over there trying to work something out. Well it doesn't look like Israel really wants to be friends with the US either. But the US gets to take the blame.
Now our government has supported Israel unequivocally and I'm not entirely sure I understand why. I know that we're pretty much locked in together but, come on, this was atrocious. I wouldn't let my best friend get away with murder so I don't understand how the administration has just stood by and watched over the past few weeks. Apart from being just plain wrong, it's stupid. I feel bad but there isn't anything I personally can do about it. I know that the people of the world are going to hate all of US even though most of us are stuck behind a government we don't want. I mean this is happening at a time when the vast majority of Americans do not approve of the President. Anyone who knows anything knows not to trust the network news outlets. So we search out the truth. Sometimes it's obvious and sometimes it gets even more confusing. This time however even the networks can't cover up how ridiculous this is. They're standing right there when the bombs are falling on innocents. And we, actual Americans, have seen it, and we've been disgusted by it. We do care about the Lebanese people. But if they don't care about us anymore, I think I understand.

Lady in the Water
I love M. Night Shyamalan movies. And this one is no different. I know there have been a lot of bad reviews out there but I couldn't agree less. I think it's absolutely wonderful.
It's a fantasy film, not a scary one, about people finding their true purpose and how that can help to save the world. It's an incredibly hopeful movie. You hardly see that anymore. And it's so well made. I wish I was that talented. I wish I knew what my purpose was but I don't. I guess you're not supposed to but it'd make me feel better if I did. All this waiting around to be whoever it is I'm supposed to be is getting old. And so am I.

This is the End
My only friend, the End.
Well it looks like it folks. I thought maybe we could get Superman to pick up the entire Middle East and hurtle it out into space. It'd save us all a big headache. But then I remembered that he's got his own problems with the box office numbers. So we're on our own.
I mean it's basically a gigantic family fued of global proportions. The Bible's been around for a long time. You'd think with all the advanced warning people would have figured a way to never get to the those last pages but here we are. I thought maybe the bird flu would save us. You know, get rid of a huge chunk of the population of Earth and it would give everyone more breathing room. So then the extra oxygen going into our brains would allow everyone to THINK. I can't believe humanity is this stupid. And it's all about God when you really get down to it. He must be so embarassed.

Illegal Fireworks are Illegal right?
I'm am sick and tired of going through this every year. As it gets closer and closer to the fourth of July the morons in my area set off illegal fireworks, they seem like the professional kind to me. They do it at random times, into the night, whenever. These are not children. They are adults. Why does this appeal to these people? I was always taught how dangerous it is and because of that I worry that someone innocent, including myself, could be affected by it. We all live in wood frame houses closely packed in together. Call me crazy but that concerns me. In my opinion people with brains wouldn't want to do that sort of thing in this area. But you know what happens when they move people from the inner city brick slums into small towns/cities. They bring their bad behavior with them and refuse to acclimatize. So we have to adapt to them. Is that how it's supposed to go?
Now it happens often enough that something should have been done about it by now. I live in a state where all fireworks are illegal. So this shouldn't even be a concern of mine. But again I live in a place where apparently very few people care about the law. So I get to be startled for months. I get to worry ceaselessly. The longer it goes on and nothing is done about it, it's some kind of automatic accumulation of worry that grows in me every time, and I feel like something's bound to happen eventually. It sparks my outrage over and over again. I get scared. I get upset. And I'm so sick and tired of it that some times I wind up crying because I'm so angry that I even have to think about it at all and there is nothing I can do about it. It's illegal, so why does it keep happening? I can call the cops so that they can pretend they're listening to me. But then I just feel like I'm wrong for wanting to protect myself, like I shouldn't be bothering them. It's not like they're supposed to protect me, right?
There are so many things like this in the world where it just goes on and on and on. And I'm sure some people think it's not that big of a deal but it's a big enough deal that it's completely illegal. Doesn't anyone understand that lawlessness breeds lawlessness? I feel like I live in chaos. It's just another example of how people are letting everything go because of the supposed greater societal ills out there. Well maybe if people didn't feel like they lived in chaos and felt like there was some order, then lawbreakers would feel like the outcasts. But I'm the one who usually feels like I'm crazy for even caring about such things.
I hate all fireworks at this point. I hate professional displays. I hate seeing them in car commercials. I hate the 4th of July and New Year's Eve. I have to skip a part of my favorite movie because I can't even tolerate it there anymore. I used to love to go down to the pier as a kid to watch the fireworks. Now they're just a source of fear and anxiety. People can ruin things for you. You don't have to let them. It happens anyway. Systematically over time they can make you hate where you loved.

What is it about gangs?
This is something that makes no sense to me. Why do people get involved in activity that doesn't seem to have any promise of something good happening. I've seen all the TV programs that show that you either wind up dead or in jail or both. Haven't they?
Apparently where I live there are gangs. Serious ones and it seems that no one has really been paying attention to that fact. The reason this has been brought to my attention is that one delinquent shot another delinquent dead. A few days later the first delinquent's mom was killed in an apparent revenge killing. That goes beyond not making sense.
But I can't understand how whatever lifestyle these people live seems important enough for this to happen. Who thinks some turf war or grudge or whatever is worth that? Of course you'd think drugs must be at the center of this, right? But yeah, so? People have been on drugs forever. What is making this batch of drug users so insane? I mean the worst you used to get was people who thought they could fly and they only wound up killing themselves. What gives? What makes this idiotic lifestyle so tempting? And why do they think it's so important? It's all a fantasy. A fantasy family. A fantasy society. Fantasy feuds that they're making a reality. A ridiculous reality that decent people have to deal with now.

Boom cars
Do you own a boom car? If you do, I hate you. You people have got to be the most inconsiderate things to ever walk the earth. That noise is so infuriating, maddening even. I don't know how you can live with yourselves. It's not like people are just playing loud music either. Whatever the technology is that allows this horror into our society, if we can call it that anymore, it 's all about the repetition. You see when you cretins are in your cars listening to your music you hear an entire song. But the people outside of your car for miles around only hear *thud* *thud* *thud*. That repetition is the sonic equivalent of Chinese water torture. And somehow you people are getting away with it in droves. And it goes through walls. I often wonder who invented this nonsense and what new level of Hell must have been created for them. I literally sit there and wait for the noise to stop. Whatever I'm doing has to be put on hold because that obnoxious throbbing goes right through my brain and I can't do anything else. I have no choice whether I hear your stupid racket and I can't ignore it. It's too insidious. I can't watch TV, read, think. Why should people be allowed to do that? Because they can afford the newest stereo equipment? It's assault and this technology should be outlawed.
You see some of these cars going down the street playing so loudly that the whole car vibrates. It vibrates your windows if they go past your house too. But something that's occurred to me is that half of the people with the vibrating cars are driving brand new vehicles. Vehicles that I'm sure they'll be trading in in a few years. Who wants to be the lucky person to buy one of these cars used after every nut and bolt has been shaken every day for hours on end? It's a detriment to everyone. Those stupid enough to do that to their hearing and skeletal systems and those who have to deal with them. For the former at least they deserve whatever damage they do to themselves, but what about the rest of us? Do we deserve to be affected by this stuff because someone stupid wants to listen to their music on their terms and because someone smart enough to market this product wants more money? I don't think so. But again it seems like I'm one of a few who think that, because if that wasn't the case it wouldn't be happening. Good people, decent people would stop it. We still have the numbers but again most of us are sleeping.

Before the Dark Times, before the Empire
Earlier, I caught the end of Return on the King on cable. Seeing it again, I realize how interesting and important the battle between good and evil has always been to me. I was raised on Star Wars and I believe that the whole Light Side/Dark Side thing really grafted itself into my subconscious. I can't let go of the idea that good must win out. And it drives me crazy on a daily basis when I witness the opposite, whether it's in my own life or on the news. It seems to be that more and more people are just letting the Dark Side win. Supposed good guys are just bending over and letting our world fall apart. Seeing this happen so often now, I wind up feeling more and more that we'll never win and that I'll never see that happy ending. But then I don't even know that there is a "we" anymore. Everywhere I look I see people who for whatever reason are just resigned to it. This is the time when we should be fighting and it just seems like everyone is sleeping through it. And the worst part is, I'm feeling a little drowsy myself.

Hi.
You are my new blog and it's very nice to meet you. I hope there will be more dancing than indignation but we'll see what happens.
