I was sickened watching the news tonight

It was incredibly sad to find out that the Israelis murdered so many little children yesterday, but after nearly three weeks of watching these acts on television, it isn't surprising. So quite honestly that wasn't the thing that disturbed me the most. It was seeing all those people shifting their anger toward the US. It makes me sick because I've been sitting here every night watching CNN thinking 'what the hell is wrong with Israel?' From the first night I've thought that no matter what their reasoning is, and I do believe I understand what they thought they were doing, they've behaved in the most disgusting way. They took the opportunity of a couple of kidnappings to strike at an enemy that they've wanted to hit for a long time. It seems pretty obvious that they figured they could because that's what Bush did with Iraq and Saddam Hussein. I didn't support that and I don't support this. And I doubt that many Americans do. Now obviously that backfired on Bush since most people don't like him anymore. His dad even hangs out with Bill Clinton instead. So why Israel thought they could get away with it is beyond me. Now they're taking us down with them so I don't even understand what those in Washington who've always stood with Israel are thinking. They didn't give any Americans a heads-up to get out of Lebanon before they started bombing and they regretted to inform Condoleeza Rice about their massacre of the little children while she's over there trying to work something out. Well it doesn't look like Israel really wants to be friends with the US either. But the US gets to take the blame.

Now our government has supported Israel unequivocally and I'm not entirely sure I understand why. I know that we're pretty much locked in together but, come on, this was atrocious. I wouldn't let my best friend get away with murder so I don't understand how the administration has just stood by and watched over the past few weeks. Apart from being just plain wrong, it's stupid. I feel bad but there isn't anything I personally can do about it. I know that the people of the world are going to hate all of US even though most of us are stuck behind a government we don't want. I mean this is happening at a time when the vast majority of Americans do not approve of the President. Anyone who knows anything knows not to trust the network news outlets. So we search out the truth. Sometimes it's obvious and sometimes it gets even more confusing. This time however even the networks can't cover up how ridiculous this is. They're standing right there when the bombs are falling on innocents. And we, actual Americans, have seen it, and we've been disgusted by it. We do care about the Lebanese people. But if they don't care about us anymore, I think I understand.
